Home Remedy: Tea Tree Oil #giveaway

Disclaimer: I received a product to review. All opinions are my own.

I've never been a fan of medications of any kind, but I find myself needing them as I get older. At the same time, I find myself looking for more home remedies and homeopathic solutions for medical needs, especially with my kids. If we can treat something naturally, why put chemicals in our bodies?

I tend to have more skin irritations than other people. In fact, I get this rash on my leg every year in the spring. It sticks around until the end of fall, and goes away until the next spring. It is very annoying, but can only be because of allergies. In the past few weeks, I've been spending more and more time outside. Now, the rash is worse, and more itchy. I mixed some of this Australian Tea Tree Oil by Apothecary Extracts with some lotion that was unscented and meant for sensitive skin (it is not diluted, so you must add it to something for the first try). I added this mixture to my rash and it is almost gone and doesn't itch anymore. WIN!

Also, I'm allergic to many, many things when it comes to skin. I'm allergic to calamine lotion, the additive in a lot of things like cortaid, and many many other skin medications. With this comes my sensitivity to skin irritants. I'm allergic to poison oak, ivy, and sumac. I'm very vulnerable to ringworm as well. That's my biggest difficulty- and the solutions I'm allergic to. Tea Tree Oil has been my life saver! I will never be without it again.

The smell is strong, but it smells so good. To me all good things have a good scent (I even love the smell of bleach).

Apothecary Extracts Australian Tea Tree Oil

I was so excited to get the chance to try out this particular Tea Tree Oil. I have wondered about its usefulness for a while, but was unsure of which to buy and what to look for. When I had the chance to review this, I jumped. I wanted to experience this option. Believe me, this has gone beyond my expectations. This is guaranteed 100% undiluted (They even have the test to prove it). You receive a 4 oz. bottle (it is huge). At $24.99, this is an amazing deal.

One thing I love about this company is their commitment to quality and the earth. Their Tea Tree plantations have received awards for their conservation farming practices. They have a smaller carbon footprint than the other Tea Tree farmers. Australian Parliament has even invited them to speak at a farming forum. They were one of the first producers to be accredited under the Australian Tea Tree Industry Association Code of Practice. The nutrition program for the Tea Tree plants is based on organic fertilizers. When using pesticides (a necessity to ensure the health of the plants) they employ a shield sprayer to minimize any contact with the plant. Whenever possible natural crop protection products are used.

These people know what they are doing- check the directions on Amazon: Directions: History: Apothecary Extracts Tea Tree Oil is a pure oil culled from the leaves of a tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) native to Australia. The aboriginal people of Australia have long used Tea tree oil. The Aborigines would bathe in medicinal pools of water where the tea tree leaves had naturally settled. In World War Two, the producers and the cutters of Tea Tree were exempt from military service until enough essential oil had been accumulated. The oil was a highly valued product as it was issued to each soldier and sailor as part of their kit in order to treat tropical infections and infected wounds. Description: The Tea Tree is a small tree or shrub with needle-like leaves. It can grow up to 7 meters (20 feet) in height and thrives in marshy areas, though it is now cultivated in plantations. The Tea Tree is very robust; it is ready for cutting only two years after its' previous harvest.
