Book Review: If He Had Not Come

Disclaimer: I received a book to review. All opinions are my own.

With so much commercialism present in the world, Christmas time becomes about the stress, gift-giving, shoppings, sales, decorations, and even volunteering. The simple fact is that those things are not what matter. There is one thing that matters this time of year, and that is that God sent his only Son to us as the ultimate gift. Even Christian families get swept up in the hustle and bustle of it all and forget this.

If He Had Not Come (Story by Nan F. Weeks, reintroduction by David Nicholson) aims to bring us back to the true meaning of Christmas. It has an "It's A Wonderful Life," type of feel to it, but focusing on the coming of Jesus. Nicholson has written a new version of the classic story from the '30s aimed at the younger generation, urging them to really understand the story. Follow along and find out what it would be like if Jesus had never come to earth. Through an eye-opening, somewhat bewildering dream, a young boy discovers some of the enormous changes the world would face if Jesus had never come to Earth.

I love this book and will continue to read it to my children every year. Available on Amazon ($3.99 Kindle; $18.99 Hardcover)
