Book Review: Sophie La Girafe Books

Disclaimer: I was sent samples to review. All opinions are my own.

My SnapperBug is finally starting to talk. YAY! She is saying a lot of vowels, and leaving off the beginning of words, but that is so much better than the silent 3-year-old I had. She has started her speech therapy after months of testing. We have found that she has a significant speech delay (most likely not disorder and the delay was most likely caused from fluid behind her eardrums during different points of her development). At her ASD screening, they found that she is very socially intelligent and besides talking, ahead in her development. She has anxiety, most likely caused from her speech delay.

That being said, this child is so very smart. She can recognize most letters, put the letters of her name in order, identify colors, shapes, and some numbers. We are continuing our homeschool with a letter of the week curriculum that I have developed especially for her. It consists of some worksheets, sign language, letter toys, a name kit, and these Sophie La Girafe books from Dorling Kindersley.

SnapperBug is obsessed with giraffes, so she gets so very excited every time we bring these books out, often going to get them on her own. I love sitting with her and having her point out letters, numbers, and objects. I have already loved teaching her, but watching her with these books gets me even more excited.
