I love teaching my kids about different cultures and the way people live their day to day lives around the world. I love teaching them about the similarities and differences. This is something I learned from my mother. She lived in Okinawa for 3 years as a child, so she was passionate about teaching us about the different cultures of the world. This is something I love continuing with my kids.

I love our "Question of The Day" segment of our homeschool day. The kids can ask any serious question they want (they come up with some silly ones, though). Sometimes the questions span the globe. In this case, we pull out the inflatable globe, world atlas, and this book. We look up the culture or country and dive in. To see the looks on their faces as they learn the differences, then see that kids are still alike across the globe is priceless. This is a great book to share moments with your kids with.
