Tech Tools: Liztek USB 3.0 to HDMI Video Graphics Adapter Card for Multiple Monitors

Disclaimer: I received a sample to review. All opinions are my own.

As you know, I love tech. I am always multi-tasking, so when I can combine them, I am one happy lady! This Liztek USB 3.0 to HDMI Video Graphics Adapter Card for Multiple Monitors is one of those tools that make me happy!

One of my problems in my work set up is that at times I need multiple monitors in order to be more efficient. So far, I've tried using my tablet as an extra screen, but that doesn't quite get the job done. Liztek has solved that problem for me.

This amazing device allows me to connect everything! I can connect up to 6 display units (however, an adapter per monitor is required). The display style is optional as well. Video MOde: Extended Desktop Mode, Mirrored Desktop Mode and Primary Mode. Audio: Headset and microphone input. 5.1 Channel surround sound through DMI interface. It also allows for easy projection connectivity. I could even connect an HDMI TV. I love that it comes with the adapter as well!

It has really come in handy for events too. I can do my work and take in information on my laptop, but allow who I am assisting to view on a separate monitor. I can also play videos/ movies from my laptop to a large television.

It's quick and easy to set up, but make sure your drivers are updated before installing the drivers for this device. The cd is included for the driver though. Beware though, it is not compatible with a mac.

Three Things to Look at When Buying an Artificial Christmas Tree

Buying a new tree for your home year after year can feel tedious and leave your wallet strained. Depending on where you live, you'll spend between $50 and $200 or more just to buy a new tree. One of the best ways to save on your tree is with an artificial model. Manufacturers now make artificial trees that have lush branches and use different colors to mimic the look of the real thing. When you consider a few things first, you can buy the perfect artificial Christmas tree.

Size Always Matters

Size always matters, especially when it comes to holiday trees. As much as you might love seeing a seven foot high tree in your living room, you need to ask yourself if you really have that much space available. A tree that touches or nearly brushes the ceiling can overpower the room and overwhelm your senses. You generally want a tree that has enough space between the top and the ceiling for your star or angel to sit on top and still have a few inches leftover. If you have less space, you might opt for a tabletop tree that is small enough to sit right on top of a coffee table or buffet.

Look for Accents

Some love the look of realistic artificial trees, but others prefer models that have some accents. Many companies now make trees with flocking added to the branches to mimic the look of freshly fallen snow. If you want to save time decorating, you might look for pre-lit trees that have white or multicolored lights already installed. Some manufacturers even make artificial Christmas trees that come with glitter decorating the branches or trees in bright colors, including green, purple and pink.

Read Reviews

Not all Christmas tree manufacturers are the same, which is why you need to read reviews. In addition to the reviews found on official websites, look for reviews on third party sites. Reading Balsam Hill reviews and reviews from other companies helps you decide which company makes the best trees. You'll see whether customers had problems putting the trees together, if the lights stopped working or if they dealt with any other problems. Before buying an artificial tree to use in your home this holiday season and beyond, always read reviews and see what others said about their purchases first.

Homeschool Resource: Meet Lulu

Disclaimer: I received a product to review. All opinions are my own.

Have you met Lulu? Well Painting Lulu is the first print to digital coloring experience to grace us with it's presence! This is the cutest thing I have seen for the littles!

Meet Lulu is a 3 in one bundle that features Lulu and her friends. They are recyclable consumer goods that represent different parts of life cycle of environmentally friendly products.

  • The coloring book is printed on 100% recycled and recyclable paper.
  • There are over 10 different characters, each of them equally adorable.
  • The free app that accompanies it allows the child to scan the QR code and color on a device. (Making it perfect for travel).
  • Available in the iTunes store, Google Play, and Amazon app store.
  • The free digital crayon is adorable and durable.
  • There is a one-click sharing feature so children can share their artwork with their parents.
  • There are free coloring pages available online.
I love that this integrates technology with classic children's entertainment. Although my son has his own tablet, he is still only allowed a certain amount of tech time (unless it is school related). I still want him coloring with crayons. It is nice that he can do this, but learn about technology too.

Meet Lulu has gotten him excited about recycling. I now get scolded when I throw something away, even if it is not recyclable. He loves asking questions and then coloring the page. He especially likes that I can scan the code and he can take it with him.

The Night Before The Night Before Christmas: A Christian Santa Story

Disclaimer: I received a product to review. All opinions are my own.

My children received the most adorable book from a very talented author.

Being that so much of Christmas is centered around Santa Clause, I try to mix in religious themes (Christopher Popinkins even left a nativity scene for them this year). I also try to keep Santa focused items to a minimum and teach about the Greatest Gift whenever I can. That is one reason one of my favorite cartoons is "Santa Clause is Coming To Town."

I had my reservations about this book, so I read it before I read it to the kids, in case we needed to work in something focusing on Jesus.

Jay Dee is a genius though. The story stands on it's own. This story about a little elf who is a perfectionist is one of the most wholesome, yet simple Christmas books I've read. The Night Before The Night Before Christmas is truly amazing.

Elfie is working hard on a train, yet feels bad because it isn't done on time. Santa comes for inspection and Elfie is afraid he is in trouble. Never fear though, Santa has a very important reason for assigning this job to Elfie.

The surprise at the end blew me away and it will you too. Thanks Jay Dee for writing this book. The Night Before The Night Before Christmas will be a staple in our home for many years to come. I will be purchasing more copies to pass out to little family members!

These hand painted housings perfect for anyone with a gopro. They are waterproof, but without the shine. They come in matte black, camo, and desert camo.
They started out because the soldiers needed housings that didn't shine. Well, consumers have a need for these as well. I don't have to worry about my housing causing a glare in photos, which may cause an obstruction that could be mistaken for the paranormal.
